About Eva Longoria
The youngest of four sisters who grew up on a ranch in Corpus Christi, Texas, Eva Longoria attended Texas A&M-Kingsville, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. After graduating from college, she entered a talent contest that brought her to Los Angeles, where she was spotted and subsequently signed by a theatrical agent.
After landing roles on The Bold and the Beautiful and General Hospital and co-starring in Beverly Hills, 90210, she auditioned and won the role of Isabella on the popular series The Young and the Restless. This earned her an ALMA in 2002 for outstanding actress in a daytime drama-and her career was successfully launched. Eva considered herself blessed to have had the opportunity to work on television's daytime drama, which was followed by a role as Detective Gloria Duran on Dick Wolf's LA. Dragnet.
The Golden Globe nominee and ALMA Award-winning Eva Longoria starred as Gabrielle Solis on the ABC megahit Desperate Housewives. The show is a multiple Emmy, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild award winner, with more than 30 million viewers in the U.S. — and seen in 208 countries around the world. Eva enjoys an embarrassment of riches, with awards almost too numerous to mention: People’s Choice Award for Favorite Female TV star; People’s 50 Most Beautiful People in 2005; People’s 100 Most Beautiful People in 2006 and 2007; one of Rolling Stone’s People of the Year; and two years in a row the #1 Hottest Woman in the World on Maxim’s annual Hot 100 list.
Longoria starred in The Sentinel, from Fox/Regency/Further Films, opposite Michael Douglas, Kiefer Sutherland and Kim Basinger. She lent her voice to the Lions Gate Family Entertainment animated film Foodfight!, along with Charlie Sheen, Wayne Brady, and Hilary Duff, and also stars in the upcoming Over My Dead Body, with Paul Rudd, Lake Bell, Jason Biggs, Lindsay Sloane, and Stephen Root, from Gold Circle Films. Longoria hosted and produced the National Council of La Raza ALMA Awards on ABC in 2006 and 2007, honoring Latino artistic achievement in the television, film, and music industries. With Longoria’s help, the ALMA Awards earned the highest ratings since their inception.
Eva’s talent and charm make her the perfect choice to represent L’Oréal Paris as an international spokesperson.
