Women in Need
L’Oréal Empowerment Program
L’Oréal Paris underwrites the L’Oréal Empowerment Program – a series of workshops designed to promote self-esteem and teach independent living skills to women living in Women in Need shelters. The workshops not only provide critical information, but also help participants refine job skills.
The objective of the L’Oréal Empowerment Program is to enable WIN clients to identify and set goals for themselves and their families, to learn techniques and develop strategies for the attainment of these goals, and to increase their understanding of how values, beliefs and choices can positively or negatively influence the attainment of goals.
Founded in 1983, Women in Need (WIN) is a non-profit organization providing transitional and permanent housing, jobs, education, advocacy and other essential services to homeless women and children in New York City.
WIN is based upon the belief that the building of social networks is an important element in making a successful transition to self-sufficiency. L’Oréal Paris has been a proud supporter of WIN since 1991.
